  • Our use of real butterfly wings in our unique handcrafted statement earring dangles, are all ethically sourced Butterfly wings from butterfly farms around the world.

These butterflies live a full life, and are collected after they have naturally passed away (1-5 weeks lifespan) in the butterfly conservation farms located worldwide.

Eggs are laid on leaves in the wild and are then collected and hatched in specially equipped butterfly farms. Butterfly conservation farms are able to raise nearly 80-90% of the eggs to adulthood, whereas in the wild only about 5% will survive.

Adult butterflies are then released back into the wild to fulfill their adult lives, breed, and support the natural food chain.

Some butterflies pass before being released, and it is these butterflies that are carefully collected, and sold to Scientists, museums, and artists.

Selling the butterfly specimens help support butterfly farms across the world, many of which are located in third world countries. Butterfly farms help provide jobs for many who may otherwise go into logging or farming which obviously requires chopping down large portions of forests which is devastating to the local wildlife and atmosphere.

By supporting butterfly farms, you not only help support the conservation of many endangered butterfly species, but you also help protect the forests by providing sustainable jobs for many third world country's citizens.

  • All item listings will describe if the gemstone is ethically sourced or not.

I try my absolute best to use ethically sourced gemstones and minerals, and am always open to your recommendations of shops you may know of that sell ethically sourced gemstones and minerals.

How I like to source my materials is through other local small sellers as well as participate in rockhounding adventures to mine my own gemstones.

Some of the rock hounded gemstones I currently offer are the Mount Baker Blue Agate, and Utah Topaz Mountain champaign topaz.

  • I love being able to offer a very wide range of precious and semi precious gemstones—some are even rockhounded by mine or my brother's own two hands! I am constantly adding the selection of gemstones I offer, if there is one you don’t see on the list and would like to see in a certain accessory style, please reach out and I’ll do my best to source it!

    • Remove before workouts to avoid moisture from sweat

    • Remove before bed

    • Make sure to give your accessories lots of love!

  • Every month Earth Play Studios campaigns for an endangered species to help raise awareness and funding to projects that support their survival. During the month any items purchased will donate directly towards that endangered species conservation project.

Any time you purchase an Earth Play accessory or home decor item, it will donate $1 per item sold. For example, if one person had 10 items in their order, then their order would donate $10 (aside from Save B4 Extinct items).

All Save B4 Extinct items will donate 100% of profits towards the animal’s conservation.

At the end of the year we count up how much was raised per month and allocate it to the appropriate conservation groups.

We wait till the end of the year to do this since often this is when these conservation groups are running matching gift campaigns.

  • All Earth Play earrings are crafted using nickel free hooks and posts. Each listing will describe the type of metal posts or hooks being used. Earth Play uses a range of metal types including hypoallergenic stainless steel, solid sterling silver, and 14k gold plated solid sterling silver, gold filled, and silver filled findings.

  • ABSOLUTELY! We take extreme measures to ensure that we are doing our part to be Earth friendly and have recyclable packaging!

Padded Mailers: 100% Recyclable made from upcycled newspaper matted into a layer of cushioning, then sandwiched between two layers of recycled Kraft paper. These mailers are curbside recyclable and naturally biodegradable.

Packaging Tape: Pressure Sensitive Carton Sealing Tape (PST) . The tape itself is not recyclable, but the tape does not inhibit the substrate it is put on from being recycled. We are currently exploring recyclable tape options.

Jewelry boxes: 100% recyclable black kraft jewelry boxes consist of 100% recycled materials. The box board is on average 80% post consumer materials. The paper wrap material is 100% recycled, process chlorine free (PCF) and manufactured with renewable hydroelectric energy. These boxes are made in the USA.

Jewelry box filler: Made from 100% recycled paper and are made in the USA.

Paper Raffia Ribbon: The paper raffia ribbon is degradable and recyclable paper raffia made from 100% natural fibers.

Thank you card inserts: Made from 100% recyclable materials using environmentally-friendly inks and solvents. Inks are vegetable oil-based and emit very low traces of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which are the fumes that evaporate into the air from inks, solvents, and cleaners as they are used or while they dry.

  • We are excited to announce that we now offer Wholesale for a select range of gemstone studs that can be found on our Faire Wholesale shop.
